Benazir Bhutto!

There are many who claimed that she is corrupted but you must know that every popular Pakistan leader before her has been charged with corruption, because that is the only way you can force him/her out of government. The Pakistanis know that corruption claims are heavily misused and ignore the claims, but the world doesn't know. The one who convicted her, whose family assassinated her father. But the world doesn't know.

Her father was assassinated, brothers murdered, and in the end she had to be assassinated just before she could be Prime Minister for the third time.

I always wonder how much empowerment and enlightenment she would bring to the world had she been allowed to live and lead. I would queue for days just to see her in person.

As to how manipulative the military regime was - She was shot three times in public and video-ed, but the police cleaned up the scene to destroy all forensic evidence and the then government told the world that she was not shot.

Why Karpal Singh? Why now?

The Nation is looking forward to a CHANGE.

All these ISA threats to deter bloggers from talking about government since the parliament has been dissolved. Yet, I must say this before the upcoming election, which might just change our lives.

I am not a bit political, nor interested much in how and who is running the nation. Ignorant I may sound but year by year, these tiny itches are turning into a pain in the ass.

Yes, I am looking forward to change (who doesn't?), whether from the current government or opposition. I don't expect miracles to happen, like having the bumiputera privileges removed, or increasing the quota of non-Malays entrance to local Us and scholarships, a non-Malay Prime Minister, Zero corruption, etc etc.

I'm talking about a mindset change, where the nation grows according to time, trend, world and ultimately globalisation. I'm talking about having priority in the English language in education instead of insisting on the importance of our national language. I'm talking about equal academic opportunities, equal religion rights (like you don't throw an ex-Muslim into prison!), love for dogs, transparency on government officials' spending, and wiser budgeting.

If the government is truly determined to move this country forward, we must look at the big picture. A simple example - While the world is dominated by three main languages: Spanish, Chinese and English, I suppose the Malay Language should not be forced onto our children, resulting in uni graduates who can barely converse in English. So where do they go? Government offices.

BN or PKR, I do not care. Many may think that PKR could offer more hope and change. I am scared of disappointments and hence do not expect much. However if PKR is a breath of fresh air from BN's half a century reign, I say - Let's gamble on these five years. After all, it's only five years, how bad can it be?

Sure, we are pendatangs, but unfortunately we earn more to support the nation.

I want to live in a place, promising enough for me, my children, my children's children and many generations to come. Months ago, Mr J and I have decided (despite him hoping to migrate) to stay put in this country and I am determined to make my stay here as enjoyable as possible, and quality of life assured.

As of now, I am watching Channel News Asia who broadcasts only bull's eye news, direct and straightforward - pointing the PM's tactics, BN's media campaigns, issues on bumiputera privileges and many more. Meanwhile, our PM is begging on TV1, TV2, TV3, ntv7, 8tv, Channel 9, The Star, Utusan Malaya, Berita Harian, and our Youtube homepage.

Thais are now Bumiputeras.

"Bumiputeras" simply translated: Prince of the Earth.
This title has been granted to the natives and Malays who actually came from Indonesia.

Now, this status has also been granted to the Thais. (Source: The Star)

I mean... Seriously?!
As a Malaysian Chinese, I grew up with the understanding that I am born a second class citizen. Instead of going against the fact or even think about countering, we accept the situation and work with the system. We know no matter how much we try and how much we contribute to the nation, and how much we boost the economy to save the other ethnicities, we are forever second class. That is the harshest truth in Malaysia.

And now the reason why bumiputera status is granted to Thais because they have unquestionable loyalty?
I have no qualms with Malays who have been enjoying the privileges since day one, because I have already accepted the way it is, and know how to work with it to squeeze the best out of every situation.

So now, the national ethnicity status here is far more unfair:

Ranked #1: Malays
Ranked #2: Orang Aslis - Kadazan, Ibans, Dusun, etc.
Ranked #3: Thais

Below #4: Chinese & Indians who happen to be serving this country with all loyalty.

TAMADE.
